The 6th edition of InfraBIM Open (IBO) will be held in Lyon from 29-31 January 2024, for the 2nd time in France.
This international technical conference is a forum for sharing experience and knowledge to provide key information to infrastructure players as the sector becomes increasingly digital. An international professional jury selects the conferences from the 76 presentations submitted by 23 countries. IBO24 is expecting more than 500 participants - directors, technicians, public/private asset managers, experts, etc. - from 25 different countries. Register here (early birds and group tickets until 27 Nov.)
What is InfraBIM Open? An international professional event - initiated by the Finns in 2018 - on the challenges and digital practices of civil engineering and public works. On the opening afternoon, a 'Europe and DigitalTer' meeting and an Infra Serious Game are proposed before the welcome drink. On 30-31 January, 2 plenary sessions and 48 presentations in English will be held at the Palais de la Bourse (Lyon), with a 'Partners' exhibition area showcasing digital solutions and expertise dedicated to Infrastructure.
Why an event on Infrastructure and BIM open? To support contractors and professionals in the digital transformation of this key sector of the economy. Digital technology, with BIM, has brought modelling, big data, and collaborative engineering to the heart of infrastructure projects. Shared information and processes require interoperable tools and exchange standards: that's why we talk about openBIM.
Why in France? Thanks to the link between delegations representing openBIM. In fact, buildingSMART Finland has agreed that buildingSMART France and Indura will host IBO once every two years. France is a recognised player in the field of Infrastructure and openBIM, notably through projects such as MINnD managed by Irex or IFCRail, but also through the involvement of professional organisations such as EGF, FNTP and Syntec Ingénierie, all of which support IBO24. Finally, Lyon's geographical location - an economically and technologically active regional metropolis - meant that the Finns were happy to organise the event outside the capital, as they have done in the past.
