FINE-MEP: New version 24 now more powerful than ever

After being re-engineered (ReD) upon the latest ICAD engine and ODA libraries on a 64bit architecture, the new version FINE-MEP 24 enables significantly faster performance, even for very large drawings. Even more important is the fact that the new version is characterized by 100% compatibility with Revit®, which makes FINE-MEP a Revit-like program at just a fraction of the price, thus changing the game.

Regarding the improvements having to do with the new construction objects and related features, the new version includes among others the following features:

I. Interface

• New updated interface identical to Autocad

• Ability to display ribbon and menubar simultaneously

• Tool palettes

• Significantly faster zoom/pan speeds (upgraded display engine)

• Faster reading/writing and opening/saving files

• Significantly higher performance in both AutoBLD & AutoNET command groups thanks to the new design engine (3 generations higher than that of FINE19)

• Enhanced AutoBLD & AutoNET dialogs

• Increased supervision with display of underlying and superimposed floor outline

II. Building Shell (AutoBLD)

• Reading Revit (Rvt) files for the building shell (in addition to IFC/BIM reading capabilities)

• Creating and Editing Curtain Walls with all their characteristics

• Creating Multiple Openings (rectangular opening consisting of horizontal and vertical repetitions of the opening selected from the program library)

• Ability to place Louvers - analytical calculation of shadows

• Ability to place 3D horizontal cantilevers - analytical calculation of shadows

• Ability to place inclined cantilevers - analytical calculation of shadows

• New “matchproperties” command for all entities of the building shell (and networks) for direct copying of properties from one entity to another, individually or massively and for one or more characteristics

• Ability to Connect-unite columns with a roof (beyond connecting walls to roof)

• Calculation of Thermal Bridge of a sloping wall surface in case of connection to a roof

• Display of Thermal Bridge sides and possibility of inversion with one click

• Ability to define Different Thermal Bridge between column and beam

• Ability to define Building Elements directly from the FINE design tool

• Ability to define Ventilation, Space, People, Devices, Lighting Elements directly from the FINE design tool with easy copying-editing per space

• Ability to define typical space elements

• Increased supervision during the configuration of the shell having the outline of the underlying and superimposed floor

• Integrated cooperation with the new IDEA24

III. MEP Networks (AutoNET)

• Ability to define and modify Network Elements directly from the FINE design tool for all E/M networks of Installations

• Selection of elements from libraries with search capability and via words for faster finding of desired elements of the contents of the libraries

• Indication of heating data in the floor plan update in Fan Coils (with display of FCU type etc)

• Weak current networks with analytical cable type design, new weak current receptacles, ability to pre-measure cables and receptacles concisely and analytically (with analysis of sections) in xls format, etc

• Automatic identification of underfloor networks for automatic update of calculations and detailed design of circuits with full control of all parameters and simultaneous supervision in the floor plan design.

• Detailed axonometric diagrams (underfloor, air ducts)
