Edificius has launched its point cloud import and processing feature!

19.10.2023

A new step has been taken towards better data utilization in 3D architectural design of existing buildings.

Users can obtain the transition from point clouds to BIM more quickly and easily.

Edificius now has specific features in its new version that allow users to build a digital twin of a built environment from photogrammetric or laser scanner data (scan to BIM - point cloud scan to BIM services) and to significantly reduce BIM modeling times.

With these features, the software provides a series of functionalities as listed below:

  • -          Align the point cloud on the X and Y axes;
  • -          Modify point size;
  • -          Add vertical sections and quickly define floors using the advanced SdRA (Altimetric Reference System) manager;
  • -          Define horizontal sections for all desired levels;
  • -          Enter architectural objects (walls, doors, windows, etc.) using point cloud snaps and accelerators.

In this way, users can create 3D models that comply with the open BIM IFC standard using point cloud data without having to completely rebuild the existing architectural BIM model from scratch.
