bocad 2025 - the most comprehensive and innovative software release to date

At the bocad user meeting last week in Germany, bocad 2025 was presented to 160 participants for the first time. The response from users to the new and expanded features was overwhelming.

bocad has developed significantly over the last 2.5 years under SCHULLER&Company. Approximately 330 enhancements have been implemented into the new bocad versions. The team has been strengthened by 15 new colleagues.

Here are some highlights of bocad 2025:

IFC-Interface

Import

Bolts, holes and welds are converted into bocad connections

Nested structures are resolved during import

Transfer of the assembly structure to bocad

Export

Format 2x3 is certified by buildingSMART

Welds, e.g. for welding robots

SmartPointCloud

Conversion of the point cloud from 9 data formats (.e57, ...) with visualisation in SmartView

Moving and rotating the point cloud with saving the settings

New add-on for bocad

In bocad 2025, the module is automatically activated for test purposes until 31/12/2024. From 01/01/2025, an additional licence must be purchased for use.

Export to IDEA StatiCa – Transfer profiles and outline plates with cut out, bolts and welds for structural analysis

SmartView

Collision control between reference and bocad model

Referencing point clouds and also external bocad project.

Use SmartSelect and other bocad functions in SmartView

SmartView is accessible as any view of the bocad model.

SmartNavigator

The SmartNavigator displays the complete project tree, showing phases, assemblies and parts for direct access to different functions on all the elements of the project. The modification status of the assembly or member (marked, modified) and direct access to properties and modification form.

Quick access to drawings associated to member and assemblies.

Dock SmartNavigator window freely in the main view window or keep it floating
